10 Day Green Smoothie Cleanse
Today's treat for natural beauty comes in the form of a green smoothie, but not just any smoothie. This particular treat is packed with turnip greens, oranges, raspberries, blueberries, and flaxseed, and it is delicious!

After becoming extremely uncomfortable in my clothes and disgusted with that annoying roll that kept bulging over my jeans (ew!), I had to do something. For real.
Readers that have been around for a while will recall my phase with Weight Watchers in Booty Begins with Biscotti. That was cool for while, but it didn't last.

I have sustained energy throughout the day and I don't have that foggy, need-a-nap feeling. My nails are not brittle, but instead strong, and my skin doesn't have that tired feel to it. I think the best thing about this change in eating is my waistline. The money I spent on food for this is nothing compared to new clothes I'd have to buy to accommodate my expanding middle. Now, I actually enjoy the taste of peppers, carrots, apples and greens.
This is worth sharing because, if I can do this, so can you. Discipline is not one of my strengths. I have to really, really work hard at discipline. I didn't know how I would live without coffee or chocolate chips, but, by the grace of God, I did. And so can you.
Here's the recipe for today's smoothie:
2 handfuls of greens
three small oranges or two large oranges
two cups of mixed berries
one and a half tablespoons of ground flaxseed
one scoop of protein powder
and one teaspoon of stevia
Pulse one cup of water and greens until a green juice forms. Combine all other ingredients and blend. I used a Vitamix from Costco and put it on Smoothie mode. This recipe can be divided into two containers for two meals.
